STDocCapture
STDocCapture is a simple, easy to configure and effective document capture tool. It has been designed and developed by Stellaris Technologies based on its experience and expertise in Document Capture.
Capture begins with images. High quality, high resolution images render better OCR results and hence higher accuracy as compared to poor quality images. STDocCapture brings a unique set of AI based image processing filters that can drop off watermarks, remove shadows and correct skews making it an ideal solution to provide good quality images to any OCR engine.
User customizable edits can be triggered once the data is extracted and flag error fields. STDocCapture provides an optional and totally customizable data entry interface to allow users to visually confirm and validate automatically captured data. Operators are stopped only on flagged fields to speed up data entry. Interactive edits are executed when the Validation operators key the data.
No document is allowed to be exported without confirmation that all fields contain valid data. This ensures that your organization is assured of accurate data on which to act. Export edits and export can be configured to store images and data to flat files or database or can interface with any other archival software using custom scripts.
Leveraging AI/ ML
The STDocCapture AutoLearn and AutoCapture modules based on AI and ML provide a whole new document capture user experience.
STDocCapture’s AutoLearn module has built in algorithms that learn from operator keyed data and applies rules formed from the learning to newer images that are processed. The process is template free and is not tied to the structure of the images being processed. The results of the auto learning process can be reviewed by developers if necessary and corrections can be performed manually, thus preventing a black box approach to machine learning.
STDocCapture’s AutoCapture module uses AI to automatically detect key value pairs. This allows a one-time configuration of the solution where any operator is allowed to mark data that is to be captured from these images. AutoCapture algorithms then take over to populate the data to the respective fields. The configured label and field data properties assist the module in parsing out complex data types like Address blocks into the respective fields without any configuration of rules or regular expressions. The AutoCapture module also allows for the images to be shrunk or scaled and does not require any image processing techniques to precede capture.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
A variety of documents such as mortgage statements, brokerage statements, retirement plans, processed by various financial institutions find a need for capturing crucial metadata. STDocCapture makes capture simple to configure, irrespective of whether individual fields are to be captured or various tabular formats spanning across pages are to be parsed and exported.

Invoices and Purchase Orders with their varied formats and sources pose a challenge while converting to a digital format. Interfering logos, fonts of varying sizes juxtaposed with data to be captured, indeterminate tabular formats which detail the line items in a myriad different ways, hamper extraction of data with high accuracy. STDocCapture’s dynamic binary thresholding assists with converting color images to black and white adjusting to contrast and color across the entire page. STDocCapture’s algorithms for capturing tables irrespective of the location or number and order of columns, simplify capture.

Create Image
Ingestion of documents in the form of PDF, single or multi-page image files that could be color or black and white.

Standardization of images to a common format for processing, splitting multi-page images to single pages.

CleanUp Image
Application of selected filters to clean up images such as removal of lines, labels, constraint boxes, check boxes, partial shaded areas, inverse tone.

Process OCR
Extracts contextual data using minimal configuration with high accuracy. Auto detects and parses tabular formats from unstructured documents.

Auto Validate
Application of customized rules per field such as date validations, computations, look ups against flat files, database tables or third party software.

Data Edit
Once the data is captured, an optional STDataEdit module presents the document to data entry operators to correct and perfect the captured data.

Export
The perfected data is then picked up for export that can be archived to any repository of your choice.
Security
All images and development config files are stored in a Shared Folder. Access to the share is controlled by Windows User rights. All files used by STDocCapture are saved and stored in an encrypted format. Role based rights are assigned within the Designer module which in turn controls access to various modules.
The lifecycle of a document is tracked using the STDocTracker module as the document is processed through the various steps. This helps with determining the total turnaround time per document, rejections if any, data entry operator name, time taken to key the document and other such useful insights during Production.
